The Proxenia Foundation is building independent governance around public benefit, responsible stewardship, and an institution designed to serve Central Florida’s hospitality and innovation communities for the long term.
The Board’s charge
Protect the mission. Structure the work. Sustain public trust.
The Board of Directors provides fiduciary oversight, strategic discipline, and independent governance as the Foundation develops its research, education, community, and programmatic work.
Its role is not to manage individual programs. Its responsibility is to ensure that the institution remains useful, accountable, financially responsible, and capable of serving its mission beyond any single initiative or individual.

Independent judgment
Decisions should serve the Foundation’s charitable purpose and public benefit—not the interests of any single company, program, funder, or constituency.

Relevant experience
Strong governance requires different perspectives, including direct knowledge of hospitality, entrepreneurship, education, technology, finance, research, civic leadership, and community.

Long-term stewardship
The Board should create structures, resources, and continuity that allow useful work to outlast personalities, funding cycles, and individual initiatives.
Formation status
The Founding Board is being seated.
Directors will be introduced as formal appointments and governance onboarding are completed. Until the Founding Board is fully seated, the Foundation will not present a partial roster as though its governance structure were complete.
People with relevant governance experience who want to understand the Foundation’s work or future board and advisory needs are welcome to begin a private conversation.
Leadership & governance

Executive leadership operates the Foundation—developing programs, building partnerships, managing resources, and advancing the work.
The Board governs the institution. It provides independent oversight of mission, strategy, finances, policy, risk, and executive leadership so that Proxenia can become larger and more durable than any one person.
